Light sleet and snow in Blackheath and a light settling on the Oberon Plateau. This fall was was minor but worth noting for the record. Not a big result at all.

Sleet and wet snow showers in Blackheath early morning. A light settling on the Oberon Plateau, above 1200M. Another light fall only from this system.

Some light sleet and wet snow showers in Blackheath, very early in the morning it was brief and not very significant at all.

Nice snow showers in the morning in Blackheath but no settling of note. More light snow showers in the evening. The Oberon Plateau had a few cm of settling above 1100M.

7-8-17 - Mslp Analysis Chart

Some snow showers occured on the Oberon Plateau above 1200M on this day and light settling occured in the morning. Then by afternoon and evening, snow showers recommenced on the Oberon Plateau, bringing more than 5cm of settling to the higher ground of Shooters Hill. Areas on the Oberon Plateau below 1200M still experienced settled snow (even Oberon township) although the depth was typically 2cm to 3cm. Blackheath had lovely snow showers (big flakes to 20 cent piece size) by about 9pm and it continued for about an hour with a very light settling. Then after 10pm, the rain started and washed the light settling away.

A brief snowfall recorded at Black Springs with a dusting on cars and gardens.

July 19th, 2017

Some brief snow showers at Shooters Hill on this day. Wet flakes occured occasionally, along with sleet. Most of this occured above 1300 metres.

July 5th, 2017

Some snow showers occured on the evening of the 5th of July in the Shooters Hill area, above 1200M. No settling of note. In the old days a lot of snow shower type events would have gone unrecorded but these days, with phones and the internet, very little is missed.

June 6th, 2017

Not a strong cold front by any means but snow showers and a light settling occured at Shooters Hill during the afternoon. Sleet was reported in the Blue Mountains although it was likely to be melting hail.

There were some very light sleet and snow showers observed at Mt Trickett on the Oberon Plateau during the passage of this weak front.

April 26th, 2017

There was a nice little cold front that hit Oberon at about 1pm on this day with hail, strong winds to around 90kph or higher and some sleet and brief snow flurries above 1200 metres. Blackheath experienced hail at about 1:30pm.
